Mehr über unsmindmelt is a marketing agency for management consultancies - web design, corporate design and content strategy that builds credibility before the first conversation happens.
Management consultancies sell expertise and trust. Both need to be visible before a prospect picks up the phone. mindmelt develops corporate design, websites and content strategies for consultancies - from positioning and LinkedIn to case study production. Owner-led, based in Frankfurt since 2002, with a proven track record working with mid-market consultancies including S+V GmbH and EQ.
Marketing for Management Consultancies – What Actually Works
Many consultancies have a strong market position - but struggle to show it online. The website reads like an org chart. LinkedIn sits dormant. Case studies are missing or years out of date. mindmelt fixes that.
As a specialist in Consulting Marketing, we start with positioning: what's your niche? Which sector or problem do you solve better than anyone else? That answer drives everything. From there, we build visibility - a website that showcases your work properly, a LinkedIn presence built around thought leadership, campaigns designed to win mandates, and employer branding to attract the consultants you actually want to hire.
Sharpen Your Positioning. Build Real Visibility.
Consulting Branding for advisory firms plays by different rules than branding for product companies. A restructuring consultancy like S+V signals credibility and experience - not playful design or marketing speak. An innovation consultancy needs the opposite: momentum, a forward-looking position, the confidence to stand apart. As a specialist consulting agency for marketing, we build brand identities that fit the culture and audience of the firm - not the designer's taste.
Thought Leadership Marketing is the most effective channel by far: expert articles, white papers, case studies and LinkedIn content that establishes your expertise before the first pitch. Decision-makers who already know your thinking walk into that initial conversation differently from those you've cold-approached. That's not coincidence. It's the result of sustained visibility work.

Mehr über unsMost consultancy websites look the same: vague value propositions, stock photos of handshakes, nothing you can verify. Decision-makers buying advisory services don't read that - they're looking for proof of work. A case study with an anonymised client, a concrete problem, a describable approach, and a measurable outcome builds more trust than any positioning statement. The challenge: case studies require sign-off. Getting that approval and writing something that's both NDA-compliant and specific enough to be credible takes an established process. Firms without case studies usually lack the process - not the results.
An anonymised case study only works if it's specific enough to be credible. "A European company improved efficiency" says nothing. "A mid-sized German logistics firm cut transport costs by 18 per cent through route optimisation in six months" tells a story. The minimum specificity for credibility - industry, company size, nature of the challenge, approach taken, quantified result - frequently conflicts with what NDAs actually permit. The structural fix: negotiate reference rights at the start of an engagement, not at the end, when clients have no incentive to agree.
A founder with 5,000 connections posting strong content regularly will reach 3,000 to 8,000 people organically. The same content from a company page reaches 200 to 300. That's structural - LinkedIn favours personal profiles over company pages when it comes to organic reach. For small and mid-sized consultancies, the founder's personal brand is the most effective marketing channel, both in cost and reach. The problem: many founders don't want to be visible. That preference costs pipeline. It's a strategic decision that's often treated as a personal one.
A consultancy offering "digital transformation, organisational development and supply chain optimisation" is positioning itself as a generalist. That's McKinsey territory - not the right ground for a boutique firm. Mid-market clients who won't pay McKinsey fees aren't looking for broad capability. They're looking for proven depth in their specific problem. Two named specialisations with concrete evidence convert better than six abstract service areas. How you position yourself on your website determines directly which enquiries come in. Vague positioning attracts vague enquiries - and most of them are the wrong clients.
Senior advisers - the ones with the sharpest insights - rarely write. The ghostwriting workflow - interview, draft, revision loop, sign-off, publication - runs three to four weeks per piece when an adviser is managing active client work. Producing two pieces a month means keeping six to eight in various stages of development at once. That's a production pipeline. Not a writing project. Most consultancies kick off a content programme, publish three articles, stall, lose the momentum they've built, and start over. The firms that build a real audience publish consistently for eighteen months without a break.
